Ranch Report: John French and Lisa Miskinis reporting

1. Garden Farms, Tract 1, meeting- Ranch will meet again in late August or early September with residents. Main concern seems to be traffic circulation so they are working on options. Questions were asked by residents and comments made. Ron Patterson concerned about water, traffic connection with Oak and Walnut, bridges, totally unacceptable increase of traffic through residences. Joe Janowicz shared traffic concern also. Southern entrance is unacceptable, does not want roads widened nor bridges replaced, Residents want traffic routed south of town area-past the Berry Farm. They are concerned with wells and water issues including flooding. Dorothy Gearhart sent around photos of the area in 1995 flooded. Joe questioned about a green belt separating Garden Farms and the 35 new lots. Motion was made by Janice Maxwell and seconded by Heidi Lewin-Miller, " The Santa Margarita Area Advisory Council recognizes the Garden Farms resident’s concerns of increase traffic to Tract 1 on the Santa Margarita Ranch and that this should be done outside the boundaries of the Garden Farms area." Discussion followed with a vote of 17 in favor, 1 abstention. Motion passed. Nick Routh motioned and Mark Tomes seconded " This body supports the concerns addressed by the Garden Farms residents expressed at the SMAAC meeting and asks that the Ranch owners take them into consideration during their planning process regarding Tract 1." Discussion. Motion passed with 16 in favor and 2 abstentions.
